Hi guys!

We are still in the beta fever, so weโ€™re researching and reading a lot of stuff about testing.

This is what we concluded from reading about the experience of other projects:

Testers are responsible for:

-Checking that the software works;

-Is easy to use;

-Has actions that make sense;

Also, testers need to write accurate and specific bug reports, and if possible providing descriptions of how the bug can be reproduced. This will help us fix the problems faster.

Functionality testing does not require extensive technical knowledge. Functionality testers look for general problems within the software itself or its user interface, such as stability issues and software mechanic.

Compatibility testing is normally required for PC titles, nearing the end of development as much of the compatibility depends on the final build of the software.

Compatibility is used to test major functionality of the software on various configurations of hardware.

I guess most of you know these things, but we thought some pro tips would be useful for anybody! ๐Ÿ™‚

What other things should we consider when preparing for Beta testing?

  1. Hi Clive,

    We are considering this. I don't have a straight answer now, but we will announce it when there is something sure ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi, I've been a 'paid' user for a few months now and am enjoying the Mindomo experience ( I am building a tutorial membership site and it's going to be great using Mindomo!)

    I'm interested in 'Watermarking' my Mindmaps with a logo – any news on that front?

    Regards,

    Clive

  3. Hi Mike,

    thanks for your feedback.
    We will try to fix the login saving issue.

    Could you let us know why would you want a map to be completely deselected ? Can you describe a couple of situation this would help you be more efficient.

    Last map should be possible to open from the recent maps list. Thumbnails are already done in the online version, we will check what can be done for the desktop app.

    Thanks,
    Zoltan.

    Please make sure the keyboard shortcuts are Mac compatible. Right now it uses Windows shortcut keys even on the Mac. Please allow us to save our logins so we don't have to login every time. Also, allow the map to be completely deselected. Right now there always has to be at least one node selected. I would like the option to always open the last map I worked on or to open the library screen inside the desktop app, so I can easily see the thumbnails of all my maps. Thank you and I'm looking forward to the release.
