Let’s start Monday with some good news! Our Desktop version now has a spell checking functionality available in the following languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Dutch and Portuguese. The spell checker becomes active when you are editing the topic, and all you need to do is right click on the word to see the spelling suggestions: By going to the License Info icon (at the bottom of the left toolbar in your Dashboard), then to Options, you can set a custom language for the spell checking functionality, different from the language of the application: Please give this new feature a try and let us know what you think in the comments section below. One of our popular online feature which gives you the possibility to create your own personalized map themes is now on Mindomo Desktop. With a premium Desktop license, you can now enjoy the comfort of creating your own themes where you can set the default font size, color, shape, background color, relationships on all topics from a certain level so that when a new topic is added on that level, it will be created with that formatting automatically. To do this, you need to go to Themes, then select Theme editor: You are also able to set your theme as default so every new mind map will be created with this theme: Download our latest Desktop version from here, give it a try and let us know what you think.…

Our new assignment templates are meant to help students get started with mind mapping while completing assignments on various subjects: Maths, Language Arts, Science, Biology, Geography, Chemistry, etc. In order to use any of these templates, you need to click on the Create button from the Dashboard, then go to the Assignments section, choose the template you are interested in, add a new title if you want, and click on Create. Please note that you can filter your search based on subjects, grades, assignment titles, and languages. Once you create your own assignment using one of the templates from the gallery, both the description section and the teacher’s guidelines from the template will be cloned. You can edit them both – the description from ‘Edit Assignment’ and the teacher guidelines…

Lately, we’ve been asked quite a lot about an Excel import format. We know Excel is one of the most popular tools on the planet and that many of you are using it as much as you are using Mindomo. So, the new Excel (.xlsx, .xls) import format we just released is likely to be of great use. You will be able to transfer the information from your Excel spreadsheets and turn it into mind maps that you can further share for collaboration. Once logged into Mindomo, you are 2 steps away from importing your Excel file: 1. Click on ‘Import’ from the dashboard, then choose the Excel (.xlsx, .xls) format. 2.
